Save the Date! 2005 Prosperity Partnership Luncheon November 7
Last November, over 1,100 leaders from business, labor, government and nonprofits gathered at the Regional Economic Summit to publicly launch development of the regional economic strategy. Since then, the Partnership has grown to include 150 partner organizations that have agreed to help create, promote and implement the strategy.
On November 7, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the downtown Seattle Westin Hotel, the Prosperity Partnership will hold a luncheon to assess the accomplishments of the past year and lay out an action plan for moving forward on key initiatives fundamental to our economic competitiveness. Prosperity Partnership Wraps Up Summer Tour
The Prosperity Partnership has been on the road all summer sharing the draft economic strategy at over 60 events around the region attended by almost 5,000 people. The response has been great with many of helpful comments and suggestions received. We’ve used the feedback to refine and strengthen the strategy. Prosperity Partnership to roll out Action Plan at Regional Leadership Conference 2005 on October 5 -7
The Economic Development District Board will take action on the regional economic strategy, including a first-year action plan, on September 27. The following week, we’ll present our game plan for moving forward on key initiatives at the Regional Leadership Conference in Vancouver BC.
The Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce and Prosperity Partnership are organizing this year’s conference, “Competing in a Flat World: How the Puget Sound Region Can Succeed in an Integrated Global Economy.” The conference will be a truly regional event, spanning all four Central Puget Sound counties with a focus on our region’s competitiveness in a changed international economy.

Western Washington Summit 2005 in Bremerton on October 13
The West Sound Technology Professional Association’s annual summit will focus on technology and economic development entrepreneurship at Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton.
John Thorp, author of “The Information Paradox,” will deliver the Keynote Address, discussing how to deliver business value from IT changes. Other speakers include John Wylder of Microsoft, who will outline innovations in identity management, and Michael Bookey of Pachena Light Consulting, talking of using the Internet to innovate, create wealth and economic growth. Congressman Jay Inslee is the Honorary Chairman of the Summit and will deliver opening remarks.
