Action Plan Rolled out at Regional Leadership Conference

Last week we presented our game plan for moving forward on key initiatives at the Regional Leadership Conference in Vancouver BC. The Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce and Prosperity Partnership organized this year’s conference, “Competing in a Flat World: How the Puget Sound Region Can Succeed in an Integrated Global Economy.” The conference was truly a regional event, spanning all four Central Puget Sound counties with a focus on our region’s competitiveness in a changed international economy.

Regional Economic Strategy Gets Green Light

The Economic Development District Board gave unanimous approval to the Puget Sound regional economic strategy, including a first-year action plan, on September 27! Reaching this milestone is a tremendous accomplishment. Their action concludes thousands of hours of work by hundreds of people over the last 11 months with guidance by the Puget Sound Regional Council and Economic Development District Boards.

The strategy is the central Puget Sound’s roadmap for successfully competing not just for new business but to keep what we already have. And our first year action items tell us exactly who's doing what, by when, to advance its implementation.

You can find an executive summary of the strategy at www.prosperitypartnership.org.
